Rant :s

I'm sorry. I'm going to have a bit of a rant this time. It's about my school. It's a catholic secondary school and throughout my years here there's always been a debate between the non-catholic Christians and catholics about whethe we should be forced into something we don't agree with or is not part of our religion.

Don't worry I'm giving both side of the story but I feel as though my voice is never heard so I will go into a bit more detail about my side ^.^

The Catholics say, 'you chose to come to a catholic school so youshould be prepared to take part in masses and do the sign of the cross'

Yes, I see their point, but first off; It's a pathetic excuse because they have no other arguements and second, It's a SCHOOL! not a church. If I went to my friends church on Sunday and it was catholic I would respect them and do the sign of the cross properly but tbh education comes first when I'm at school (I'm not crazy-religious) and I don't see why I should be forced to do the sign of the cross when the teachers at my school can't be assed to even explained to me the symbolism or the reasoning behind them actually doing the sign of the cross. I'm not being disrespectful I just think it's unfair that they assume we all know what it means.

And, personally, I didn't get to choose my secondary school. So they can't come to me and say 'you chose this!' because I'll just turn around and say,'no, actually, I didn't' if I couldve I wouldve chosen a different school bit it wasn't up to me like it was for some of my friends :/

Sorry bout that. That's basically it. Rant over. I'm just peed off at all my friends telling me it's because it's a catholic school, it's not. At the end of the day, I'm not catholic and I don't do the sign of the cross. Not on purpose to be rude but just because I don't. Simple. I dont see why they take it to heart so bad. We have some other denominations visit my church and we don't tell them off for doing something we don't or not standing up to sing. Ok, that sounded a tad harsh and big-headed, but it's true. Even catholic churches wouldn't find it disrespectful if they understood you weren't catholic and you welcome god in a different way.

Sorry.
